Shopping
The area contained between Rambla Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia Avinguda Diagonal and Rambla Catalunya, concentrates the citys most select and exclusive establishments. Fashion, jewellery, design, art galleries… all form an extensive and very enticing offer. Not to forget such emblematic areas as the Old Quarter or El Born, a world in which to browse amongst the ancient and the moderns, and discover the vanguards of art, design and fashion.
Barcelona offers an extensive selection of indoor malls with some of the largest in the world. Do not miss Diagonal Mar, Glories and Illa Diagonal or La Roca Village.
Excursions
With close links to literary and artistic Modernism, Sitges is the seaside town nearest to the city. In the other direction, towards Girona, the Costa Brava seduces with its pebbled beaches and crystalline waters, and an endless number of highly attractive villages such as Cadaqués, or Figueres with its Museu Dalí. If we decide to head inland, the winemaking region of the Penedés, famous for its excellent quality cavas, opens the doors of its prestigious wineries.
