Roka is bringing its world renowned contemporary Japanese robatayaki cuisine to Barcelona’s waterfront as part of the ephemeral dining concept. For a limited time during this summer season, Roka will be inside the Hotel Arts Barcelona’s exclusive Marina Coastal Club.
Nestled beside club’s infinity pool the open-air Roka Barcelona will be overlooking the world-renowned Frank Gehry’s statue ‘Fish’. Promising to be a culinary highlight of the summer season, Roka’s menu will feature its signature, immaculately presented sushi and sashimi alongside dishes from the robata grill.
Contemporary Japanese Cuisine
The robata concept
ROKA is a meeting place where food and drinks are shared around the robata (Ro) and heat, warmth and an all-embracing energy surround (Ka).
The principle cuisine is from the Robata grill, which originates from the fishermen of the northern coastal waters off Japan, who would cook the fish on the boats with different charcoals and share the bounty with one another using their oars.
